WTIA’s Apprenti program lands $23.5M grant from Dept. of Commerce to expand tech training program – GeekWire

The Apprenti apprenticeship method run by the Washington Know-how Market Association (WTIA) was awarded a $23.5 million grant to assistance teach additional tech staff throughout 11 states.

The funding will come from the U.S. Office of Commerce and is component of the $500 million Very good Positions Obstacle funded by the American Rescue Prepare. Apprenti, also known as the WTIA Workforce Institute, was amid 32 jobs nationwide to be awarded a grant out of much more than 500 programs.

Introduced in September 2016, Apprenti offers absolutely free education and apprenticeships for candidates seeking to operate in the tech sector. It focuses on supplying economic mobility to underrepresented teams. The method is provided in Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.
