How To Restart Apple Studio Display Monitor

Apple’s Studio Display is a great monitor for people who want something that offers a native 5K resolution without being an ugly black box.

Priced at $1599 it isn’t the cheapest option on the table, but it’s the only one available for people who want an Apple-made monitor but don’t want to spend silly money on a Pro Display XDR. But as cool as the monitor is , it has one problem — it doesn’t have a power button.

Normally that might not be an issue for a ton of people or most monitors, but the Studio Display runs a version of iOS which means that it has software that sometimes needs attention. That, in turn, means that you might find yourself needing to restart your Studio Display. But how do you do that if there is no power button?

The answer is a bit old school, but it’ll work. Here’s how to restart a Studio Display.

Step 1: Locate the plug socket where your Studio Display is connected to power and unplug it.

Step 2: Wait at least five seconds.

Step 3: Plug your Studio Display back in and wait for it to power on.

That’s it, you just restarted your Studio Display and you can get back to whatever it was that you were doing before it required the restart in the first place.
