How AI and Web 3.0 are Making Ed-Tech Better

How AI and Web 3.0 are Making Ed-Tech Better

The world has witnessed some groundbreaking transitions since the beginning of Web 1.0 in 1994. Web 1.0 was more like a read-only form of the internet where users could only read information without any possible interactions. Then in 2004, Web 2.0 came along, and interacting with internet data became possible, like the options of comments and sharing in present-day social media.

We are experiencing the transition phase of Web 2.0 to Web 3.0. Web 3.0 is all set to bring a revolution mankind will always remember.

The education industry is expected to have a tremendous revenue of US $7.08bn by the end of 2022. Education runs parallel with civilization; with education, humans become equipped to meet their daily needs. Modern-day education relies heavily on Web 2.0 and its technological solutions. The education industrialists have now started to witness this transition and are finding ways to impart a rather immersive education. To achieve an immersive learning experience, education institutions are always on the run to find the right Web3 development firm. The human mind retains knowledge imparted through an interactive mode at a higher rate than it recalls from just reading.

Redefining Web 3.0 And AI

Web 3.0 is the upgradation of Web 2.0’s centralized governance with a revolutionary decentralized Internet. Web 2.0 shares users’ private data in the form of cookies with other tech giants. Let us say every time we search for something on the Web, soon after, we see pop-ups marketing the product that we searched for moments ago. This takes away users’ right to privacy. With Web 3.0, this will not be the case. The interaction will be peer-to-peer, and the user will own their data in every possible aspect. Talking about artificial intelligence, on the other hand, is one of the major technology that Web 3.0 works on. Almost all modern-day gadgets work on Artificial Intelligence today.

The real usage of these technological advances came during and after the pandemic era when educational institutions were at a pause. Tech titans started working on futuristic technologies and how they will reform education. And indeed, the educational revolution has just begun.

Emphasizing The Role Of Web 3.0 And AI In Ed-Tech

Personalization

Students have been persuaded to grasp knowledge like robots for a long time. But every student is different, with different grasping capabilities. Through Web 3.0 and AI, students can leverage a personalized experience and study as per their retention abilities. With AI, teachers can focus on every student differently.

Automation Of Tasks

The education industry has relied upon manual assessments for centuries, making huge spaces for errors. With the entry of A.I. in the education sector, these spaces will be filled with ease. Blockchain Identity Management system will erase any changes for cheaters through an advanced biometric scan. This will also keep students’ data secured in the secure ledges of Blockchain, and the student will not depend on the institution for the small inconvenience. Assessment through Web 3.0’s transforming technologies will be fast and secure, in simple words, automated. Fee transactions will be decentralized with no involvement of banking institutions.

Smart Content Creation

Smart technology creates smart content. Long gone are the blackboard days of educational institutions. Isn’t it the time of virtual blackboards? And metaverse is the answer.

When combined with VR headsets, digital lessons are a treat to the learner’s eye. Web 3.0’s technologies create simulations and digital twins that transport students to a new world. They can study their history lessons while experiencing what it was like being in that particular historical period through the immersiveness offered by VR.

No geographical Barriers

The education facilitated by Web 3.0 will be for all students, irrespective of their location on the globe. Students who cannot afford the high education costs can sit back at their homes and log in to their virtual classes.

Quality Education

Web 3.0 will impart an inclusive mode of education. Web 3.0 and its education will focus on quality education than quantity education. The smart technology of Web 3.0 will keep updating courses and e-books and ensure students get the best references for their assignments.

Reduced Academic Distress

The suicide rates among students due to academic distress keep soaring every year. The rigid educational system has pressured students to forget about their mental health completely. Education which is mostly perceived as a blessing is slowly becoming a curse. With Web 3.0 and AI, learning will be fun like never before. Students will switch to digital notebooks that can be opened anywhere, anytime. And education will not just be limited to opening textbooks in a library but using tech gadgets to have a never-forgetting educational experience.

Foreseeing The Future

As the future of education, Web3-based ed-tech companies can easily create repositories or virtual libraries; ebooks and videos can be streamed. The AI will enable students to grab their hands on the best book without the hustle of searching a bulk of references traditionally.

With Ed-tech, teachers can come prepared in advance for their lessons and create a student-engaging classroom environment. Also, families will be able to switch locations with students continuing their education.

Also, with the help of AI and other technological advances of Web 3.0, lecturers will be replaced by holograms. Imperial College Business School, located in the U.K., is the first to conduct a lecture through a hologram. The metaverse has also served as a metaversity for many universities, such as Standford University, that conducted virtual classes, tours, and explorations.

Thus the Ed3 phase of education has started, and very soon, educational institutions will entirely rely upon futuristic Web 3.0 technologies. The future of education will be a hybrid space for students to interact in. This will combine digital and physical spaces almost perfectly.

As stated above, we are in a transition phase, witnessing the Web 3.0 revolution, and the education industry is also a part of it. All the major sectors emphasize ownership of user data and the boycott of third-party interference. Then why should the education sector stay behind?
